Pelindo Maumere Serves First Export of Peeled Coconut to Malaysia
PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 3 Maumere Branch successfully handled the first export of agricultural products in the form of 26 tons of peeled coconut to Malaysia on Monday, February 3, 2025.
This export is an important step for Pelindo Maumere as the port of origin for shipment, with the final destination in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia.
The 26 tons of peeled coconut were transported using a 40-foot container via the MV Red Resource ship, which previously transited in Surabaya before continuing its journey to Malaysia.
To ensure a smooth export process, Pelindo Maumere has collaborated with various related agencies, including the KSOP of Lorens Say Maumere Port, PT Meratus as the shipping operator, Customs, and other agencies. This coordination is carried out to ensure that shipments run smoothly and on time.
General Manager (GM) of Pelindo Maumere, Angga Adi Prebawa is committed to ensuring the readiness of the port to support the smooth distribution of goods, especially in Sikka Regency and its surroundings.
According to him, this first export is a good step for economic actors to introduce Indonesia's superior agricultural commodities to the international market.
Angga hopes that more agricultural commodities can be exported, both abroad and domestically.
"We continue to be enthusiastic about providing the best service to increase customer satisfaction and provide a positive impact on Sikka Regency," said Angga.
The first export of peeled coconut to Malaysia, said Angga, can help improve the economy of the community, especially coconut farmers, and encourage increased production of coconut commodities and other agricultural products.
He also hopes that export activities will continue to develop, grow, and increase. All parties are asked to continue to maintain enthusiasm and support the growth of new business actors who can drive the regional economy.
Pelindo Maumere, explained Angga, ensures its readiness to provide information and services related to handling commodities to be exported through the port, as a form of support for local economic development.
